Cael Sanderson Penn State Wrestling Camps

Technique Camp:

June 24-26

Grades 6-12

The Technique Camp will concentrate on instruction, drilling and live wrestling for beginning to advanced wrestlers in grades 6-12. It will include techniques and drills from the feet, top and bottom positions. Instruction will cover hand fighting, multiple setups, counters, strategy and an array of high-percentage scoring techniques from the feet. The camp will explore the most effective ways to ride, turn and pin or technical fall a good opponent. Emphasis will be placed on leg riding, controlling wrists, arm bars, tilts, breakdowns, cradles and winning 30-second ride-outs from the mat. This camp will also focus on escapes and reversals to make you a well-rounded wrestler. Camp will conclude with an individual takedown tournament if so desired.

Fee: $300 day camper (includes instruction and camp shirt, no housing )
***DAY CAMP ONLY/NO HOUSING/NO MEALS

Meals: Bring your own lunch/snacks and a water bottle to refill each day.  Water and Gatorade will be provided.


Top Position Camp
July 8
Grades 6-12

The Top Position Camp will concentrate on instruction, drilling and live wrestling for beginning to advanced wrestlers in grades 6-12. It will include techniques and drills from the top position. Instruction will cover the most effective ways to ride, turn and pin or technical fall a good opponent. Emphasis will be placed on leg riding, controlling wrists, arm bars, tilts, breakdowns, cradles and winning 30-second ride-outs from the mat. Enrollment is limited to 90 wrestlers, so register early.

Fee: $165 day camper (includes instruction and camp shirt, no housing )

Takedown Camp
July 9
Grades 6-12

The Takedown Camp will concentrate on instruction, drilling and live wrestling for beginning to advanced wrestlers in grades 6-12. It will include techniques and drills from the standing position. Instruction will cover hand fighting, setups, counters, baseline defense, scrambling, and an array of high-percentage scoring techniques from the feet. Enrollment is limited to 90 wrestlers, so register early.

Fee: $165 day camper (includes instruction and camp shirt, no housing )

Meals: Bring your own lunch/snacks and a water bottle to refill during camp.  Water and Gatorade will be provided.

Bottom Position Camp
July 10
Grades 6-12

The Bottom Position Camp will concentrate on instruction, drilling and live wrestling for beginning to advanced wrestlers in grades 6-12. It will include techniques and drills from the bottom position. Instruction will cover escapes and reversals including: Stand ups, Switches, Side rolls, Elevators, Four-point, Knee slide, Granby rolls, etc.  Enrollment is limited to 90 wrestlers, so register early.

Fee: $165 day camper (includes instruction and camp shirt, no housing )
